Cold and Heartless
Cold and Heartless

If I’m so aloof
Let this be proof
That I love, I love, I love you
In my cold and heartless way

Well I want to be touched and I want to be held
And I want to do those things myself
For years I was successfully lonely
And not even you could change that
But then you pasted on that grin
I knew at once I was all in
And the truth of you snaked it’s way within

Well I know romance is so Romantic
And it used to make me sick
Well it still sort of does
But I think you’re awfully sweet
I’ll suck it up and I’ll take some Dramamine

But don’t ask me to melt
I wouldn’t change a thing in you
And I always felt
You think the same about me to
So give me one more try to get this right

Because I promise to believe you and I swear I'll never leave your side

How was I to know what I’d find in you?
I didn’t know I wanted a muse
Now every picture I paint is of your dazzling face
And you voice sets my heart and my pen apace

Oh and I can’t help
What I think when I hold you
And I’ve always felt
That you think the same about me too
So give me one more try to get this right
Because I promise to believe you and I swear I’ll never your leave your side

Well I wanna be touched and I wanna be held
And I want to do those things myself
I wanna be heard and I wanna be seen
And I want you to feel that way by me

For far too long I’d let no one know me
I saved shameful bits for myself only
But I locked eyes with you and found
Some sturdy steady solid ground
Your love abound and all around
Your name the only certain sound

Now Darling I know

You’d never ask me to melt
I’d never change a thing in you
Yes I’ve always felt
The best of the world’s in you
So give me one more try to get this right
This time I promise to believe you and I swear I'll never leave your side

If I’m so aloof Let this be proof

That I love, I love, I love you

In my cold and heartless way

Song for the Exposed
Song for the Exposed (harder. faster.)

Well sometimes, I get to thinking

I get to drinking

In the statistics of STIs

"Iiiiii"s and "Dddddd"s

Well sometimes, I get mad

Yeah it makes me sad to see

You standing with nothing on

Turns me off

So put it on you stupid fucker

Put it on or you can’t touch her

Can’t touch him

Can’t touch her or him or them or me

But just because you got it once doesn’t mean you have the right

We can make decisions night by stupid night

And just because my legs are long and you can really see ‘em

Doesn’t mean I’m waiting here for you to between ‘em

These crazy things I can get my body to do

Are feats of mine, one of a kind, and no they’re not for you

But sometime

When I decide

Tonight’s the night

Well what say you?

Got something to do?

So put it on you stupid fucker

Don’t tell me you haven’t got another

Run to the store

When I see what you’ve got you’ll leave me wanting more

Put it on you stupid fucker

Put it on or you can’t touch her

Can’t touch him

Can’t touch her or him or them or me

Peggy Sue stole the mail truck again.

She called it direct action, and then

She lost my grandpa’s medicine,

My water bill was late,

She shredded wedding invitations

And she did not hesitate.

Peggy Sue stole the mail truck again.

We didn’t know if it was crickets or tinnitus that kept her up at night.

But don’t we all know that feeling in those lonely hours when something isn’t right?

Call it fate, call it karma, call it anything but boredom.

I mean that’s what it is, but no need to put too fine a point on it.

Peggy Sue stole the mail truck again.

She called it a Saturday well spent.

She threw out my aunt’s thank you notes

And spat upon the census,

She delivered all our love letters

But to the wrong addresses.

Peggy Sue stole the mail truck again.

She tampers with forever stamps,

Covered envelopes with gum,

Rubs together eager hands,

She’s only just begun!

And just about three days ago

Our Peggy lost her job.

Better pay for overnight

For it won’t be long…

But who could ever tell what might set her off?

It changes every time.

The one thing that we can tell you all for sure is that you’ll be fine,

But for those of us stuck here it’s just a simple fact of life.

It’s just another day with our local postal parasite.

So we sigh!

Peggy Sue stole the mail truck again.

She thinks the task is just her bent.

She ignores the fragile stickers

And throws packages about,

She signs her name on each petition so that there can be no doubt:

Peggy Sue stole the mail truck again.

Peggy Sue stole the mail truck again.

Peggy Sue stole the mail truck again.

Peggy Sue stole the mail truck again.
